Wonder is a family movie released in 2017 by Lionsgate. Directed by Stephen Chbosky.The movie has received the Imported Film award (2017) and the Humanitarian award (2017). The star cast is Jacob Tremblay (August “Auggie” Pullman), Julia Roberts (Isabel Pullman), Owen Wilson (Nate Pullman) and Izabela Vidovic (Olivia “via” Pullman).
The movie tells a story about a boy with facial deformities, Auggie and his family with their pet dog Daisy. Auggie has been homeschooled by his mother till he turns 10 and then goes to middle school. There he experiences many things and different challenges while making some good friends and excelling in science along the way. When he joins the school, he is bullied by some kids because of his facial features but one of them befriends him and they become best friends.
The bullying gets worse from time to time and his former best friend helps Auggie deal with the bully. There is a trip organized by the school. Auggie also goes but gets bullied by kids from another school; his friends and some kids help him. At the graduation ceremony, Auggie receives an award and the movie ends. Olivia faces her problems along the way, distancing from her best friend, Miranda. His father fails trying to crack jokes to lighten the atmosphere sometimes.
The moral of the story is to be strong willed and to always stand up for friends. The cinematography is great and the dialogues are spoken with deep emotions. I would definitely recommend this movie and give it an 8/10 rating.
